Classic Marble Pump
by ALittleSlow 20 Dec 2014 04:10
This is my LEGO version of the classic marble pump. Inspiration is drawn from several builders. It's nothing special, because I intend it to be part of a larger model. This mechanism is a reliable way of raising balls vertically, giving the Great Ball Contraption enthusiast lots of flexibility in making a widget to go with it.

Jerseys
by ALittleSlow 03 Mar 2013 23:13
I have created jerseys two ways. First using a tunic template I found on classic-castle.com, second using decals. The tunic template is edited with graphics software, printed, cut out and folded over the minifig torso. I've attached the files I used to do this on this page. I use GIMP graphics software and Shy Foundry's SF Collegiate font for the lettering.K (Back to Top)

Nativity
by ALittleSlow 25 Dec 2013 16:29
In 2012 on a whim I decided to start a nativity set made from LEGO bricks. Then I decided to make a set for each of my nieces, nephews and children. And, inspired by a model camel I found online, I decided to make it in Miniland style—a genre with which I had no experience. I'm building one figure for their birthdays, and one for Christmas. It's progressing.

Synology Diskstation 209j
by ALittleSlow 21 Jun 2014 19:21
Motivated by the Heartbleed bug, I recently upgraded my Synology Diskstation 209j from DSM 3.0 to DSM 4.2. I think I had put this off because the update process kept failing. It took over 30 minutes to upload the firmware from my computer to the Diskstation over the web browser, and it just kept failing for lack of patience or a good WiFi connection or perhaps because I was using the wrong version. The lack of feedback in those versions of the update utility made it hard to tell. After a couple failed attempts, I figured out how to perform the update from the command line. Do this at your own risk. You have been warned.
